Terms of Service

Effective August 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing Argo or generating a report, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. What Argo is — and isn't

Argo produces informational reports about residential property using public data, commercial data, documents you upload, and generative AI summarization.

Argo is not a home inspection, appraisal, engineering assessment, insurance underwriting decision, or legal, tax, or investment advice. Cost figures are directional estimates, not bids or guarantees. Always engage a licensed professional before acting on a finding.

3. Your account and accuracy of information

You're responsible for the accuracy of the addresses, values, and documents you submit, and for keeping your login credentials secure. Overrides you enter in the edit-and-confirm step change the report output and remain your responsibility.

4. Content you upload

You keep ownership of inspection reports and other files you upload. You grant Argo a limited license to process, extract, and store that content to generate and maintain your reports and home file. You confirm you have the right to share any document you upload.

5. Realtor letters and outreach

Letters generated by Argo are drafts. You are responsible for reviewing them, for any representations they contain, and for complying with applicable real estate, disclosure, and anti-spam rules before sending.

6. Acceptable use

Don't scrape, resell, or bulk-extract Argo output; don't attempt to re-identify individuals from property data; don't use the service to harass, defraud, or discriminate, including in ways that violate fair housing laws.

7. Third-party data

Portions of each report come from third parties. Coverage varies by jurisdiction and can be incomplete, delayed, or unavailable. Argo labels field status and confidence but does not warrant third-party accuracy.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Argo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding twelve months.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms or the service. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

10. Mobile app and browser extension

The Argo mobile app and the Argo browser extension are optional tools that add to the record you already control. Installing either is voluntary, and removing either stops collection immediately.

11. What the browser extension collects, and what we do with it

The Argo browser extension captures page content only on pages where you click the Argo button. It does not run in the background, does not log your browsing history, does not read pages you have not clipped, and does not track you across sites.

When you clip a page, we extract the home-relevant facts — vendor, product, model and serial numbers, amounts, dates, warranty terms, service details, and the source URL — and attach them to your home record. If you connect a receipt email inbox or a spending account, we read only the messages and transactions that match home purchases and services, for the same purpose.

We use that data for exactly three things: building and maintaining your home record, generating your reports, alerts, and cost estimates, and improving the accuracy of extraction on your own account. Where you ask us to shop coverage, financing, or a repair quote, we share only the specific fields needed for that request, only with the providers you select, and only after you tell us to.

We do not sell your data. We do not rent, license, or trade it. We do not share it with data brokers, advertisers, ad networks, or list vendors, and we do not use it for behavioral advertising or targeting. We do not sell or disclose data to insurers, lenders, or any other carrier without your explicit, per-request instruction.

Aggregate, de-identified statistics about housing stock and repair costs may be used to improve our models and published research. These cannot be linked back to you, your household, or your address.

Clipped content is encrypted in transit and at rest, retained while your account is open, and deleted when you delete the item or your account. You can review, correct, export, or delete anything the extension saved at any time from your account, including a full transfer of the record to another person.

12. Deleting or transferring your account

You may export your record, transfer it to a new owner or agent, or permanently delete your account and its data at any time from the account data page or by emailing privacy@argo.home. Deletion removes your files, documents, reports, and extension-captured data, with backups purging within 30 days. Some records may be retained where law requires it.
